Hyacinth Macaw

It is said that their beaks can crack coconuts. The Hyacinth Macaws can easily be identified not only by their impressive beaks, but also by their rich, blue color, large size & wingspan. They can ward off predators with a cunning skill to build obstructive nests. Despite this, their survival rates are dangerously low. Unfortunately, due to rampant deforestation and caged bird trade, these colorful creatures are listed as critically endangered. Though they’ve made significant rebounds in population numbers over the past three decades, they are still limited to 3 population groups in South America only, predominantly in Brazil.
