Tree Kangaroo
Their lives depend on trees. The motion of a tree kangaroo is often slow and clumsy as it hops from tree to tree, but this little furry creature from New Guinea is balanced despite its awkward lean. The tree kangaroos are expert leapers with amazing dexterity and power. Like all marsupials, they also have pouches to carry their young. Due to excessive logging, the habitat of tree kangaroos is critically threatened. As tree by tree disappears, so do these cute little innocent bystanders. The Goodfellow’s, Scott and Matschie species are among the most endangered of the group.
