The Wave Begins

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

It’s July already? Wow, seems like 2010 is flying by and it’s quite a task to keep up. As promised, the website is now transitioning and transforming into. I know I’m a day behind on sending out this update, but my husband worked all day and night to get the brand spankin’ new Animal Facts section and slightly adjusted homepage. Check it out and let us know what you think. Don’t forget to share your favorite endangered animal through Facebook and Twitter – by doing so, you are helping to spread awareness for the plight of each animal. Of course, this is just the beginning of the wave of changes that we will be seeing in the coming months to EcoPatterns and how we present our image and products. So I am super excited to be at the foot of the wave.

For the Fourth of July holiday, we’d like to extend a sweet offer. Buy any two (2) 8.5″x11″ art prints and get a third one for FREE. And we will extend this offer to Friday July 9th. All you have to do is specify which print you’d like to add to your order during checkout. A great way to fill up your wall.

Seeing Red

Quick – when I say dhole, what do you think of? Most people have no idea what a dhole even is. It is probably because there are so little of them left in the world. Growing up in Thailand, I was somewhat aware of their existence but after doing some research, I was saddened to hear about their plight. This inspired me to raise awareness about the dhole with my newest painting – “Daydreaming.” This dreamy pair will be available soon in note cards, art prints and mounted art prints. Look for them soon

They are known for their extraordinary vocals – mostly for alerting pack-mates on dangerous conditions. Dholes are South Asiatic Wild Dogs that live in organized, extended family packs with a strict social hierarchy. Not the typical canine breed, as their range is severely fragmented and is falling under critical concerns. It is estimated that only 2500 Dholes are left in the wild worldwide. In the Wildlife Act of 1972, these little reddish-brown pups were officially declared as endangered due to rampant habitat destruction.

Marine Turtle – Shirt of July 2009!

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Fresh off the silkscreens, preparing for a cool, aquatic July, we introduce our newest addition to the EcoPatterns family: the Marine Turtle Pattern as we shift our attention to the sea. Marine turtles have lived in the oceans for over 100 million years. They are an integral part of the traditional culture of many coastal indigenous peoples throughout the world. However, they are now a critically endangered species. Help us spread awareness of the plight of these endangered animals with our newest organic shirt available now!
